Awarded World’s Best International Whisky at the 2017 USA ADI Spirits Competition, Darkest Winter is the crowning jewel in the Limeburners collection and one of Australia's most internationally celebrated single malts.
Crafted to warm the soul through the longest nights, Darkest Winter is a bold, cask-strength expression smoked with rare Western Australian peat—harvested near the ancient Valley of the Giants in Walpole. This local peat imparts a distinctive and unforgettable character, intensified by extended smoking of Great Southern premium barley.
Aged in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, M349 opens with aromas of toasted maple and fresh straw, followed by a palate rich in silky sweetness, crushed almond, and a lingering, warming smokiness.
