Welcome to Limeburners & Giniversity Albany

Our flagship distillery sits proudly on the edge of Princess Royal Harbour in Albany, with stunning views over the ever-changing water.

When Cameron outgrew his Albany Small Business Incubator space, this location had all of the essential elements he was looking for to build a world-class distillery. The cellar door opened its doors for the first time in 2007.

Today all of our Limeburners Single Malt Whisky is still produced here on-site, and our Distillery Tours give a sneak peak into the work that goes into making premium single malt whisky in Western Australia. Visit any day of the week and you can see the team in action, carefully and patiently crafting the raw ingredients from grain to glass.

Our friendly cellar door team is on hand to guide you through our craft spirits, or grab a table and relax while enjoying a selection from our tasty menu filled with beautiful local produce.

Beer and wine from the region are also available, with coffee from Great Southern roasters Beck and Call made to our own specification.

Location

Albany has a special place in our heart as the home of Great Southern Distilling Co, and Cameron always knew that this is where he wanted to establish his single malt distillery - The cool marine climate, access to abundant local produce, and crisp pure air over the harbour all lend themselves perfectly to the production of our award-winning spirits.

Albany is also within the biodiversity hotspot of South West WA. Much of the region has been geologically undisturbed for tens of millions of years and 80% of plants are found nowhere else on earth, creating a rich and unique environment.

We think it’s a pretty darn special corner of the world, and we work hard to create a renewable based and sustainable business that protects and preserves the unique nature of the region.
